Custom Nickel Products

Nickel plate, material forms and custom machined parts for defined industrial requirements. Specify unalloyed nickel or an exact nickel alloy, then provide dimensions, process chemistry and inspection requirements.

Nickel: material & procurement overview

Nickel is a metallic element used both as an unalloyed engineering material and as a major constituent of many alloy systems. Those uses should not be confused. Our product materials include nickel plate and machining examples; this page focuses on procurement of a specified nickel material rather than treating every nickel-bearing alloy as interchangeable.

Defined nickel chemistry

Material standards control chemistry and condition. Specify the grade instead of a broad purity or corrosion-performance assumption.

Process compatibility

Describe the working medium, concentration, temperature and cleaning cycle when a part will contact a process fluid.

Material or finished part

A plate blank and a drilled component have different acceptance criteria. Identify the final interfaces and supplied condition.

Material properties & grade reference

Property / specificationReference or selectionProcurement meaning
Material identityNickel (Ni)Element reference; identify the industrial grade separately
Atomic number28Element identity
Density at room temperature8.90 g/cm³Reference for the element; delivered material depends on grade and condition
Melting point1455 °CElement phase-change reference, not a continuous service-temperature rating

Reference basis: Royal Society of Chemistry element reference. These values or composition examples describe the material family. They are not guaranteed values for every delivered grade or finished component.

Unalloyed nickel is different from nickel-chromium, nickel-copper or other nickel-based alloys. Do not assign an alloy temperature rating or corrosion chart to pure nickel; send the exact designation required by the equipment.

Applications & design inputs

Connect the material choice to the finished component: identify the process, contact surfaces, operating conditions and critical assembly interfaces.

Use the examples below to prepare a drawing-based enquiry. Final material suitability and achievable geometry are reviewed for your project.

Chemical process components

Define the process medium and actual grade for a plate, lining blank or equipment component.

Electrical & equipment parts

Give the electrical duty, contact geometry and required surface or material checks.

Custom plate machining

Submit hole patterns, reference surfaces, flatness and critical dimensions for manufacturing review.

Tell us which surfaces contact the process, which dimensions control fit, and what documentation the project requires. An application example is a starting point for a specification; final suitability is reviewed against your actual conditions.

From your drawing to an agreed manufacturing scope

01 · Define — Send the grade, drawing and function, with unknown details clearly marked.
02 · Review — Discuss geometry, processing, surface condition and critical inspection requirements.
03 · Agree — Confirm quotation scope, documentation, packaging and delivery requirements before production.
Our material range and manufacturing photographs support drawing-based project enquiries. Achievable dimensions, material properties and inspection scope are reviewed for the actual grade and part; the photographs do not define a fixed stock item.

Nickel procurement questions

Are nickel products the same as nickel-based alloy products?

No. Name the exact unalloyed or alloy grade on the drawing and enquiry. Composition and condition affect both manufacture and the application review.

Can you quote non-standard forms and dimensions?

Send your drawing or initial dimensions, material grade, quantity and component function. We review the required geometry and finishing together. State whether you need a material blank or a finished component.

Do the reference values define the delivered specification?

No. Use the exact grade and agreed order requirements. Tell us which material tests and inspection records you need so their scope and acceptance criteria can be included in the quotation.

MATERIAL · GEOMETRY · DELIVERY SCOPE

Define the nickel grade and the surfaces that contact the process

A nickel component enquiry should name the grade or standard and identify the actual contact environment. A general reference to corrosion resistance is not a service-life guarantee for an unspecified medium.

Show the contact and assembly surfaces

Mark which faces contact the process, which dimensions control installation and whether the part will be welded or assembled later. Include the medium, concentration where relevant, operating conditions and required surface condition for review.

Separate the material from the finished geometry

Choose material forms and blanks for subsequent work, or custom components for an agreed finished drawing. The quality page explains how to define material documentation and dimensional checks.

Request a quote for nickel products

Send your grade, drawing, dimensions, quantity and operating conditions to sales@bomometals.com. Include the delivery country, requested schedule and required inspection documents.
A sketch or description can start the discussion. The finished specification, manufacturing route and quotation terms are agreed for your project.
